However, the market for rental housing in Geneva is extremely tight and the rules and procedures are quite different from many other places. She gave us a great overview of the housing situation in the area and recommended neighborhoods that fit our search criteria. She set up many apartment viewings for us, and took care of submitting application dossiers on our behalf. When we found a place that we particularly liked, she followed up with the régie and kept us informed.
After we were selected for an apartment, Samantha reviewed the lease with us (which was in French only) and explained what the various parts meant. This gave us confidence that we were entering into a fair agreement. Samantha also worked with the régie to schedule our move in, and was present to help us during the move-in inspection. We especially appreciated the little things she did, like advise us on child care in the area, help transfer our Internet service, and notify the mairie of our arrival.
